Tribute to Bagrat G. Seyranyan, Our Dear Friend, Colleague, and Teacher!

On April 23, 2021, an outstanding Russian Arabist, Doctor of History, Principal Fellow the Institute Oriental Studies Academy Sciences Bagrat Garegionovich Seyranyan celebrated his 90th birthday. His works on recent history Egypt and Yemen general problems socio-political development Arab countries in 20th century have long become classic. Many them were translated into Arabic received well-deserved recognition abroad, such books as “Egypt Struggle for Independence, 1945–1952” (Moscow, 1970) “Evolution Social Structure Countries East. Land Aristocracy 19th Century – 60s Century” 1991) entered golden fund world academy. The contribution to training new generations orientalists is colossal. Under leadership there prepared more than 40 Ph.D. theses, he participated authoring numerous textbooks teaching materials world. In this paper friends, colleagues students address hero day with words gratitude.
